YouTube Timestamp Link Generator

Send people straight to the part that matters. Paste a video, type the time, and copy a link that starts playing there.

That does not look like a YouTube video link.

Type the time as 1:23 (minutes and seconds), 1:02:03 (hours, minutes and seconds), 83 (seconds) or 1h2m3s.

Runs in your browser. Nothing you type here is sent to Reachism.

How it works

  1. 1. Paste the video

Any YouTube address works: watch, youtu.be, Shorts, live or embed links.

  2. 2. Type the time

Copy it from under the player — 4:15, 1:02:30 — or type it in seconds.

  3. 3. Copy, test or share

You get a short youtu.be link and the full youtube.com one. Both start at the same second.

YouTube time links in short

YouTube reads a t parameter on its links: youtu.be/VIDEO?t=83 or youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEO&t=83s both start the video 83 seconds in. This tool turns the time you type into that number of seconds.

On a computer, YouTube's own Share button has a "Start at" box that does the same for the moment you paused at. This tool is handy on a phone, for a time you read in the comments or chapters, or to make several links at once.

Time links work in comments, posts, chats and email. In a video description or a pinned comment, YouTube also turns a plain time such as 4:15 into a clickable jump by itself.

Questions about the YouTube Timestamp Link Generator

The tool reads Shorts links, but YouTube often opens a Short in the Shorts player, which always starts from the beginning — so the time may be ignored. It works best with regular videos.

YouTube ignores it and plays from the start. The tool cannot check the length, because it does not fetch anything from YouTube.

Once the stream has ended and is saved as a video, yes. While it is still live, the link opens the live stream at the current moment.

No. The link is built in your browser; YouTube only sees it when someone opens it.
